Task 1- social media (Kaia)

The table illustrates the changes in the proportions of people using different social media platforms across three age groups in 2022.

Overall, younger people preferred to use Instagram and TikTok, while LinkedIn was more popular among older users. Facebook usage remained relatively similar across the three age groups.

In the youngest age groups (18-24), TikTok users ranked first, accounting for 90%, it also the highest figure across three age groups. Followed by Instagram and Facebook, it accounted for 85% and 60%, respectively. LinkedIn recorded the lowest figure, accounting for 20%. As for people who are in 25-34 years, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, these apps were still popular, accounting for 70%, 65% and 60%, respectively. Twitter and LinkedIn recorded the same figure, accounting for 35%.

In the oldest age group (35–44), most platforms recorded their lowest usage, except LinkedIn. Facebook and Instagram still ranked highest, both had similar figure, accounting for 55% and 50%, respectively. Followed by LinkedIn, it was the only platform whose usage was the highest in the oldest age group than in the other two groups.
