Agree/Disagree- social media (Kaia)

There is an ongoing debate over whether social media influencers have a positive or negative impact. From my perspective, they have many benefits, although some people argue they can also bring negative effects.

(Firstly, social media influencers are beneficial to society since)Social media influencers can raise awareness of important social issues, such as poverty or war. Because they have millions of followers, their posts can quickly attract public attention. For example, some influencers encourage their followers to donate to charities that help children living in poverty or people affected by war.(Continue with details: What event, how they encourage, and the outcome) In addition, influencers can also have educational value. Many of them share academic knowledge and practical skills online, helping people learn new information more easily. (Continue with details) To illustrate, platforms such as Instagram provide learning resources, allowing people to access learning resources regardless of time or location.  

On the other hand, some people argue that influencers may negatively affect(be detrimental to) children’s development and values. For instance, young people may want to live the same lifestyle as influencers by purchasing expensive products or luxury brands. This could lead to unhealthy spending habits and unrealistic expectations about life. Moreover, some influencers gain popularity by posting violent or inappropriate content online. In particular, certain influencers perform dangerous pranks to attract views.(Outcome: teenager may imitate those behavior) As a result, young and impressionable viewers may imitate such actions, which could potentially lead to harmful or even illegal behavior.

In conclusion, although compelling arguments exist against social media influencers, I firmly believe that they play an important role in education and influencing public opinion.
