The question of whether family or friends are more important in our life is often debated. This issue has gained attention recently, dividing opinions. In my view, I disagree with the idea that family is more vital than friends, because I believe that friends are equally important. This essay will discuss my reasons for this stance and provide examples to support my opinion, leading to a reasoned conclusion.
On the one hand, I agree that family can provide sufficient warmth and a sense of belonging. For example, last month, I found myself in a situation that I was failing both at work and in my love life, so I decided to go home and take a break for a while.During the days at home, my mom would always ask me if I was feeling down or eating enough.Furthermore, she always cooked my favourite dishes and reassured me that no matter what happened, I could always come home. This not only made me feel extremely warm, but also made me realise that the love between family is incomparable.
Nevertheless, I believe that friendship is as important to me as family in my life. When people are away from home, in addition to relying on their families, they often need the help and support of friends. For instance,my cousin fell and injured herself while studying abroad, leaving her unable to walk normally. Her good friend in the same class immediately took her to see a doctor and stayed by her side at all times. This made my cousin feel at ease and fortunate to have her friends’ help instead of having to face it alone, and she also realised the importance of friends.
In conclusion, although there are differing opinions on whether plays a more important role between family and friends,I strongly believe that the sense of belonging coming from family and the companionship of friends are equally important ,based on the reasons discussed above.
