The topic of peer pressure has become increasingly important in today’s society, with many people holding different opinions. Some argue that peer pressure has positive effects on young people, while others believe that it has more negative consequences. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives and provide my own opinion on the matter.

Firstly, those who support the idea that peer pressure has positive effects often argue that it motivates young people to improve themselves (and create an exceptional learning opportunity). For instance, when students see their friends studying hard and achieving good grades, they may be inspired to study harder as well.(Example) This shows that peer pressure can push young people to adopt better habits and achieve academic success. (Example: create an exceptional learning opportunity)

On the other hand, others believe that peer pressure has more negative consequences because it can lead to risky or harmful behavior (and distort values). For example, some teenagers might start smoking, drinking alcohol, or engaging in dangerous activities just to fit in with their friends. (Example) This suggests that peer pressure can negatively influence young people’s decisions, leading them to act against their values or well-being. (Example: distort values)

In conclusion, while there are valid arguments on both sides of the debate surrounding peer pressure, I believe that it has more negative consequences overall, as it often forces young people to follow the crowd without thinking carefully about their actions, which can harm their future and health.

  1. 讚讚:
