In recent years, the issue of race or gender discrimination has sparked widespread debate. This essay will discuss the impact of these discriminations and provide solutions to solve problems.

 

Due to discrimination based on the race or gender, people will suffer from both personal mental issue and unfair career developments in workplace. Women are often being paid less than man for doing the same job, which can damage their self-esteem and make them feel that their efforts are not properly valued. For instance, the study from National Taiwan University has shown that women workers mental health issues are 35% higher than the same position of men.(number of mental disorder from female employee is 35% higher than that from male counterpart.) Because of they make the same effort as men but end out of less pay or slower promotion opportunities. Furthermore, racial minorities may also experience limited access to training or leadership roles, which prevents victims of discrimination from long-term career advancement. As a result, discrimination not only harms individuals’ mental well-being but also creates a long-term loss of talent and productivity of society.

 

To address with the discrimination, both governments and companies can make an effort to address it. Firstly, governments must enforce strict anti-discrimination laws to avoid unequal pay between women and men. For instance, the Taiwanese government has introduced regulations requiring companies to provide equal wages for managerial positions regardless of gender. In addition, companies should establish transparent recruitment and promotion systems, ensuring that workers are evaluated based on their performance rather than their race or gender. By combing legal enforcement with internal workplace reforms, discrimination can be significantly reduced.

 

In conclusion, gender or race discrimination can lead to both serious individuals’ mental health issues and unequal career development. However, these problems can be addressed when governments enforce strict equality laws and companies implement fair workplace policies.
