11/17-IELTS-Writing Task 5-Cynthia

In recent years, the issue of immigration has sparked widespread debate. While some believe that immigration help society progress, others argue that it brings various obstacles. In my opinion, I agree immigration can benefit society from both economic growth and cultural diversity.

Immigration can benefit society from both economic and cultural perspectives. Intelligent and highly skilled immigrants can contribute to a country’s workforce and eliminate labor shortages, which can stimulate economic growth. For example, many technology companies such as Google and Microsoft in the United States rely on foreign engineers and researchers to drive innovation and maintain global competitiveness. In addition, immigration enriches cultural diversity by introducing new traditions and cosines(cuisine), which can help create a more open and inclusive social environments. As a result, immigration strengthens society by increasing creative productivity and bringing diverse cultural backgrounds.

On the other hand, some challenges may result from immigration. Domestic workers loss jobs or receive lower wages when competing with colleagues with higher academic backgrounds from other countries. In Canada, for instance, employers prefer to hire employees from India who possess solid coding abilities and strong marketing innovation skills rather than their local workers. Furthermore, a rapid increase in immigration can put pressure on public resources such as healthcare and education, which may lead to overcrowded facilities can reduced (and reduce) quality of services for local residents.

In conclusion, although immigration may lead to overcrowded environments and increased competition, I believe that its advantages- such as higher productivity and a more diverse and inclusive culture- far outweigh the drawbacks.
