Undoubtedly, with the growing complexity of modern life and the influence of diverse social relationships, the roles of both family and friends have become increasingly significant. Whereas some people look upon friends are better suited to meet one’s emotional and social needs, I am holding an opposite opinion toward this statement, and the reasons will be elaborated on thoroughly as followings.

Once an individual experiences a major personal challenge, it is often family members who remain by their side, offering consistent support over time. In other words, family bonds tend to be more stable and long lasting compared to friendships, which may fade or change with circumstances. Take me as an example, whenever I faced difficulties(what kind of difficulties?), it was always my parents who offered emotional encouragement and practical help.(what kind of emotional encouragement and practical help?). Owing to the crucial role family plays in early childhood development, it has a profound influence on shaping one’s personality and values. To put in another way, family does not merely offer care, but also serves as the foundation where people learn how to behave, interact, and make decisions. According to a study conducted by Oxford University, a child raised in a family that emphasizes honesty and responsiblity is more likely to internalize these traits into childhood.

In conclusion, based on the aforementioned, family plays more crucial roles than friends due to the family relationship last longer and deeply influences the individual’s personality.
