7/20-IELTS Writing task-Aurora

Nowadays, it’s normal for people in the age that they are good at two languages because this advantage will increase their competitiveness. As a result, learning a foreign language is the crucial issue for the society. Some people believe that learning a foreign language at an early age in more effective, while others think that it is better to start later in life. This essay will discuss both views and give my own opinion.

On one hand, some people(individual) think it is more effective to expose children to language environment at an early age. The reason is that(because) children have a natural(exceptional) aptitude for language acquisition because they have adaptable and receptive to new language input. For example, some parents let their children begin learning English at primary schools, which fosters their children bilingualism(bilingual ability) at an early age. What’s more, early learning English improves children’s cognitive, such as high problem-solving skills, creativity and culture awareness. (Example)

On the other side, some people think it is better that people start learning a foreign language later in life because people have financial stability and more motivation to learn language. For example, some of my friends started learning language when they are university student. They have clear goals to learn Korean or French because they want to study or work abroad. The other factor of the success to learning foreign language is that they don’t worry about money and they have free time to achieve the goal. (Example)

In conclusion, although some people think it’s better that learning a foreign language  later in life. I consider that let children learning the second language early is better because they can expose themselves in the foreign environment and learn foreign language naturally.
