There has been a widespread discussion regarding the issue of education difference. Some people believe that the disparity between wealthy and poor students is likely to be continued, while others regard that the government can shorten the gap through policies and social assistance. (In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives and provide my own opinion on the matter.)

On one hand, education disparity will still exist because of families’ financial situation. If rich families support their children to explore any hobbies or professional fields, children will get higher education degrees and reach an outstanding achievement such as being(becoming) a supervisor and (receiving) well-paid jobs. (Example) However, because of expensive tuition of high-ranked universities, many parents who stand economic pressure are unlikely to agree their children to receive advanced education and are likely to ask them to earn money in a short time. Thus, education disparity will be maintaining and the distance will be expanded.(Thus, education disparity will not only be maintained, but also be expanded.)

On the other hand, some people argue that the gap will be shorten(thanks to the efforts from government and social initiative). In order to let poor students receive higher education, the governments in many countries provide financial assistance such as reducing tuition For example, Taiwanese government passed a new policy last year,(.) every college student whose family’s income under a certain average can discount 50% of tuition. In addition, many foundations and companies provide scholarship as well. If students have excellent performance such as getting a high grade in their major or receiving rewards, the government or foundations will award different levels of scholarships. To sum up, students who need financial assistance can cope with this difficulty.

In conclusion, although some people believe the government and social initiatives can help students receiving education, I still consider that educational disparity will be present for a long time. Not only financial supported by families, but also parents’ encouragement is important as well.
