7/1-IELTS Writing Task 2-Elsa

Nowadays,  the issue of saving money has become increasingly important for everyone, including teenagers. In my opinion, I completely agree that people from a young age should learn to save money for their future.

First of all, saving money from a young age might reduce their financial pressure when they face an emergency situation in the future.  Many parents encourage their children to save their pocket money in their bank account for emergencies such as illness and accidents. For example, I once fell down from the stairs and broke my leg seriously, and needed a surgery immediately. The medical expenses were expensive for me, even though I have health insurance. If I didn’t have the money saved since my childhood, it would have been difficult for me to cover the cost in such a short time.

Secondly, developing a habit of saving money early enables people to have more opportunities to chase their goals. People who save money consistently to make their finances more flexible on how to use their money such as studying abroad and travelling.  For instance, one of my friends had the goal of studying overseas, so she began saving money at an early age. By the time she entered the university, the money covered a part of her living expenses and tuition fees, so she didn’t have to worry about it during her college life.

In conclusion, from my perspective, I strongly believe that saving money at an early age is necessary. It helps adolescents to have the ability to tackle the unexpected costs and also have more opportunities to pursue their goals in the future.
