The topic of peer pressure has been widely noticed in today’s society. The number of people harbors a belief that it brings significant benefits, while others consider that it may result in negative effects on them. In the following, I’ll discuss both perspectives and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, those who believe that peer pressure leads to beneficial effects (since it motivates each other). For example, peers and peers can influence the motivation of study. If they need to get into their dream school, they might work harder and compete with their peers since they don’t want to fall behind their classmates. Similarly, it fosters a sense of self-discipline in themselves in order to achieve their goals. (Concrete example)
On the other hand, others believe that peer pressure contributes to negative outcomes (reason). Young individuals may have heavy pressure on themselves, and it gives rise to mental health issues. If they are unable to cope with the stress, they might feel overwhelmed and depressed, making them to do misbehavior such as drinking alcohol or drugs. Following that, it resulted in poor performance of academic.
In conclusion, there are both sides of the argument of peer pressure. In my perspective, peer pressure motivates peers to complete their goals and become a self-disciplined person, maintaining a positive mindset while working towards goals.
