Undoubtedly, with the widespread use of technology, social media has become an essential communication tool in human’s life. Whereas some people think that social media influencers can bring a positive effect to society, others believe they have a negative effect. From my perspective, I totally agree with the both views(former views), and the reason will be elaborated in the following paragraphs.

There(Inspiration and raising positive awareness) are several reasons why some individuals believe that social media influencers have a positive impact. Firstly, the video creators can use their physical(real) experience to inspire the public. These videos can help people from a similar background to be more confident to keep going on their way, preventing them from giving up. For example, I always watch videos or articles from former IELTS test takers who share the tough times they have experienced in preparing for the test. This successfully inspired me to break through and believe in myself. (Outcome) Furthermore, the spreading power of social media is quite strong. In other words, celebrities on social media can use their fame to promote the activities. If the influencers can initiate positive things in society, like cleaning the beach, helping disabled groups, and so on, many members of society will also try their best to help others.

On the other hand, social media influencers may also bring negative impacts on society(by spreading inappropriate content and misinformation). The main effect is that some people will post violent contents on social media. In addition, they usually use the fun way to shoot the videos, leading to the glorify of violence. As a result, some individuals may imitate the behaviour, especially teenagers. This phenomenon will increase crime rates and loss of national competitiveness. Moreover, some users excessively believe media creators, they may lose the ability to judge the truth and false that provided from the specific creators. Since they are too easy to trust the influencers, they will be deceived by fake internet celebrities. Nowadays, over 40% of the crime are from social media, especially criminal will pretend the famous to ask fans for buying the fake merchandises.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that social media influencers can spread positive things to some extent in society, especially inspiring some people who are facing difficulties and spreading good behaviour. However, those negative impacts, like glorify violence and internet crime can also be generated.
