The issue of educational inequality between wealthy and underprivileged students has drawn increasing attention in recent years. For instance, the increasing trend of students posting their university offers online has prompted the public to examine the socioeconomic conditions that contribute to academic achievement .

Form the optimistic perspective, in modern society, technological development has become more dynamic than ever, allowing students form rural or low-income backgrounds to access compulsory education more easily. Moreover, after the Covid-19 pandemic, online learning became a mainstream trend . Compared to traditional classroom settings, it is often more accessible and affordable. Some of these course are even free. For example, a student living in remote mountain area in Taiwan can now access lectures from Harvard professors and explore various subjects at will. As a result, educational disparity has narrowed compared to the past, thanks to livestream technology and the rise of online learning platforms.

Nevertheless , In the opposite views ,despite technological advancements, educational disparity continues to persist in modern society. For example, during gangly gathering over the Lunar New year, parents often discuss their children’s academic performances. In this situation, it’s easily reflects a significant cognitive gap between the haves and have-nots families. Wealthier parents tend to be more enthusiastic about their children’s educational development, often enrolling them in extracurricular programs and plays as a mentor in children’s academic live. In contrast, unhealthy families can not provide any suggestions for their kids, not even mention to investing on educational cost. Their different attitudes obviously reflect the truth— parents horizon seclude children’s option and the quality of education, which further widen the educational divide.

In conclusion, although recent policies and technological tools fave broadened access to education, significant disparities still persist, In my point of view, education functions as a form of capital that reflects one’s family background, and therefore the gap between rich and poor students is unlikely to be fully eliminated .
