The table illustrates the proportion of people using five social media in different age categories in 2022. Overall, the youngest people has the higher use on most apps, particularly Instagram and TikTok, while LinkedIn has a opposite trend, which is popular in older group.

In 18-24 age group, TikTok had the highest rate at 90%, which followed by Instagram at 85%. Facebook also was widely used by young people, accounting for 60%. However, Twitter and LinkedIn was less popular, with figures 40% and 20% respectively.

In the age category of 25-34, Instagram remained the most popular percentage at 70%, while the figure of Facebook increased a little to 60%. Compared to the youngest group, TikTok users significantly dropped to 60%. In addition, Twitter and Linkedln record equal percentage of 35%.

For the 35-44 aged category, the usage of most platforms declined. Instagram dropped dramatically to 55%, whereas Facebook and Twitter decreased for 10% to 55% and 25% respectively. TikTok was the lowest rate of social media usage, just 25%. In contrast, Linkedln users grew to 45%, making it as the most popular platform in all age groups.

Facebook followed closely at 55%, while Instagram and TikTok saw significant drops, with 50% and 35% usage, respectively. Twitter remained the least used platform at only 25%.

    In summary, social media preferences varied significantly across age groups, with younger users favoring TikTok and Instagram, while older users leaned towards LinkedIn and Facebook.
