Agree/Disagree- technology(kaia)

There is an ongoing debate over whether technology has a positive or negative impact. From my perspective, technology brings convenience to society, even though some people argue that it has negative effects.

On the one hand, technological advancement has enabled people to complete many tasks more efficiently. For example, AI tools can help individuals search for information, summarize articles, and identify key points, which makes studying and working more productive. (Concrete example) In addition, technology allows people to communicate easily through various applications regardless of time or location. To illustrate, one of my friends lives in the United States, which makes it (and it’s) difficult for us to meet in person regularly. Therefore, social media platforms such as Instagram make it easier for us to keep in touch every day and maintain our friendship despite the distance.

On the other hand, some people argue that technological advancement may reduce employment opportunities. For instance, some companies use AI systems or chatbots to replace human workers in customer service or other routine jobs. This may cause certain employees to lose their jobs and create uncertainty in the labour market. Moreover, excessive reliance on technology may weaken people’s ability to think independently. In particular, some students rely heavily on AI tools such as ChatGPT, which may cause them to let AI complete their tasks instead of developing their own ideas or critical thinking skills.

In conclusion, although compelling arguments exist against technology, I firmly believe that it has made the world more advanced and people’s lives more convenient.
