The table gives information about the percentage of individuals who used different social media platforms in three age groups namely 18–24, 25–34, and 35–44 years in 2022.
It is clear that younger users were more active on Instagram and Tiktok, while older users tended to use Facebook and Linkedin. Twitter was the least popular for all ages of users.
In terms of the age of younger users(18-24 years), Tiktok was the most famous platform with 90% of users, Instagram just fell far behind Tiktok by 5%. Yet, Linkedin attracted only 20%. In the age of 25-34 years, most individuals used Facebook and Tiktok, which had 65% and 60% respectively. In contrast, the percentage of Linkedin users gradually increased to 35%.
Among the age of 35-44 years, Facebook was the most widely used platform, with 55% of users, followed by Instagram(50%) and Linkedin (45%). As for Tiktok, the percentage of users plunged to 25%.Moreover, Twitter still attracted the fewest users ,at 25%.

Among the 35–44 age group, LinkedIn usage increased to 45%, making it the most popular platform for this demographic. Facebook followed closely at 55%, while Instagram and TikTok saw significant drops, with 50% and 35% usage, respectively. Twitter remained the least used platform at only 25%.
In summary, social media preferences varied significantly across age groups, with younger users favoring TikTok and Instagram, while older users leaned towards LinkedIn and Facebook.
