12/21-IELTS Writing Task 2-Kyle

The debate over the timing of learning a foreign language is still controversial in the recent years. Some individuals argue that it is more effective for young people to learn a foreign language, while others believe that starting to learn a foreign language later in life is better. The following essay will discuss both sides and illustrate my own view.

On one hand, learning a foreign language at early age is more effective, because children have good ability not only to stay focusing but also to make(develop) habits. Young people can keep their attention time more longer than adult. For example, high school students can stay at their classroom more than eight hours in Taiwan, and they keep their attention on studying many subjects all day. In addition, it is easy for children to cultivate a sense of language. Because young people’s preference is more flexible than adult, they make a habit for learning a foreign language.(it is easy for children to cultivate a sense of language as they have bigger interest in new language.)

On the other hand, it is more motivative and useful for adult people to learn a foreign language. When humans start to work in life, they might face some challenges on language barriers. For instance, freshman is usually asked (for) english certification, as the company need their employees have an ability to communicate with international partners. Therefore, learning a foreign language brings an instant benefit to them.

From my perspective, I believe that it is more effective for young people to learn a foreign language, because cultivating a sense of language is a long-term ability. In summary, it has a beneficial effect for humans no matter what ages they are.

  1. 1. 搭配詞錯誤要注意(make habit)

    2. 建議寫完一句話就要回去讀一次,翻給自己聽聽看,看是否合理,像紫色標注地方,你說”young people’s preference is more flexible than adult.” 讀者讀過去,會翻成”小孩的喜好比成年人更彈性” 中文裡面,我們也不會說喜好會是彈性的吧~可能會說更廣等(preference is wider than..)
