Undoubtedly, there is no denying that money is an essential thing for human living. Thus, people think that saving money for future is quite important thing for all ages. From my perspective, I completely agree with this statement, and the reasons will be elaborated in the following paragraphs.
The primary reason that individuals ought to save for the future is that they need to prepare for retirement. In other words, since people may not have stable income after retirement, they must manage their wealth well to maintain living standard. They may also save to travel around the world or attend other curricula, which require a lot of money. For example, most people invest in funds or stocks in order to earn additional income, preventing from bankrupt after retirement. In addition, they can use those money to buy whatever they want.
Furthermore, individuals also have some unpredictable expenditures. To be more specific, people usually spend money on the things that they may not predict, such as medical expenses, entertainment, and so on. As a result, people of all ages need to save money, otherwise it is possible that individuals cannot pay for some emergency spending. In Taiwan, about 30% of residents say that they cannot spend money on entertainment or penalties, as they did not save any money before. They are used to spending all of the salaries after they receive it.
In conclusion, although people sometimes can gain happiness after they buy things, it is considerably imperative that individuals, including young people, need to save money. They need to prepare for retirement and prevent from emergency expenditure. As a result, governments can also provide financial education classes for all ages, teaching people the importance of saving money.
