10/1- Writing Task 2-sereina

People hold different opinions about whether technology benefits or harms society. I strongly believe that its positive impacts far outweigh the drawbacks.

First, modern technology has transformed communication and daily convenience. Smartphones, for example, enable people to stay in touch through instant messaging and video calls, watch educational or entertaining content, access real-time information, and navigate unfamiliar places using online maps. This single device integrates functions that once required several tools, saving time and making life more efficient. Second, technological advances in medicine have dramatically improved public health. Minimally invasive surgery, robotic operations, and cutting-edge diagnostic equipment allow patients to recover more quickly and extend life expectancy. Diseases that were once fatal are now treatable, demonstrating how innovation directly improves human well-being. Third, progress in transportation technology has broadened people’s horizons. Airplanes and high-speed rail make international and regional travel faster and cheaper, while autonomous vehicles promise safer roads and greater independence for those with disabilities. For instance, I once rode in a driverless car in Los Angeles, and it felt remarkably safe and smooth, showing how such innovations can enhance mobility for everyone.

Admittedly, technology can lead to problems such as social isolation, internet addiction, or privacy concerns. However, these issues arise from how people use technology rather than from the technology itself. When used responsibly—for example, to strengthen relationships or improve productivity—the negative effects can be minimized.

In conclusion, I firmly agree that technology has a positive impact on society. It improves communication, advances healthcare, and revolutionizes transport, making our lives more connected, healthier, and full of new opportunities.
