7/8-IELTS Agree/Disagree- Family/Friend in Relationship -Alex

In recent years, there has been an ongoing debate regarding family or friend effect individual’s life. Some people believe that family plays a more vital role in an individual’s life, while others argue that friends are more important. In my opinion, I firmly believe that family is more effective than peers, and the reasons would be elaborated in the following paragraphs.

One notable reason is that most people spend a great deal of time with their family before 18. During this period, person’s characters and daily habits are largely shape by family influence. For example, my brother who won the first prize was an exceptional table tennis player in high school, I played table tennis with him, which contributed me to go exercise(assist me to build a habit of exercising) at least three times every week. (Another examples: personality) Therefore, family, especially siblings, deeply effect our behavior in daily life.

Another key factor is that families provide unconditional supports. Whether it is financial help, emotional support and practical advices, parents definitely stand by us in difficult time. For instance, last year, I broke my legs when I playing(played) the basketball. However, my mom immediately moved from Taipei to Taichung to find me and take care of me. This phenomenon let us(me) realize family support is significantly important for me.

To sum up, family members not only give us a variety of supports, including finance support, mental help and so on, but also spend an abundant of time with us, especially before 18. Therefore, I firmly believe families play a crucial role in individual’s life.
