6/21-IELTS Writing Task 2-educational disparity-Elsa

While some argue that the gap between rich and poor students in education will be a long-term concern, others believe that the government can provide efficient policies to reduce it. This essay will discuss both sides of the view and give my opinion below.

On one hand, some people consider that wealthier students obtain more advantages than other students from a young age. For instance, their families can provide them diverse resources such as private tutors and advanced technology devices. These resources help rich students develop a stronger foundation in each subject and perform well in exams, and even reach the top of the class. Therefore, they will have more opportunities to enter top universities and continue to receive more resources.  One of my friends, for example, came from a wealthy family, and he hired tutors for every subject. This advantage helped him achieve excellent grades and gave him more options when applying to prestigious universities.

On the other hand, others believe that the government’s educational policies and social support can reduce this gap(disparities). For example, governments (can) release a number of related policies for students such as offering scholarships and providing some after-school courses. These helpful resources give them economic support to overcome what(predicament) they face and provide them with opportunities to stay competitive. For instance, I received the scholarship during my university years(college life). Although the money can not cover all of my tuition fees, it significantly reduced my living expenses and allowed more focus(me to focus more) on my studies instead of worrying about financial pressure.

In conclusion, from my perspective, although students’ different backgrounds can widen the educational gap and worsen the situation, effective government policies and strong community support can still create a more equal learning environment for all students.
